Choose Chicago gears up for 2025
The Choose Chicago team took a group of travel trade types to the game between the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Chicago Blackhawks this week (Dec. 8) and along with enjoying some exciting hockey, those attending were updated on what’s new in the city and the outlook for 2025.
Canada is ranked as Chicago’s largest inbound travel market, and one that’s expected to grow in 2025, so, it’s not surprising that Choose Chicago’s Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) Lisa Nucci is in an upbeat mood these days.
In fact, figures from the Illinois Office of Tourism for 2023 indicate that Canadian visitations increased from 425,000 to 627,000 visitors, representing a substantial 48% growth. https://www.illinois.gov/news/press-release.29985.html
From a travel trade point of view, Chicago, for the first time since 2014, will host the annual IPW event for the global travel trade.
And from where Nucci sits, IPW 2025 presents the perfect opportunity to show off the fact that Chicago has experienced “a tremendous evolution” since the last time the event was there and will definitely surprise those attending with all it has to offer visitors.
As Nucci told Travel Press Today, with the trend to ‘authentic’ experiences, Chicago’s 77 neighbourhoods are just waiting to be explored and will provide visitors with a chance to experience life as a local.
Noting that organizers have been working on preparations for IPW 2025 for more than a year and a half now and Choose Chicago’s CMO made it clear that all of its “partners are excited to be welcoming the world” and showing off what the city has in store for them and their clients.
