Cathay Pacific Says Thanks
Cathay Pacific Airways welcomed some 80 travel trade types to its 2016 Top Agent Award Dinner in Toronto last night (May 11) to recognize and thank agents for their support of the carrier.
Nick Hays, vice-president, Canada for Cathay Pacific, told Press Today that 26 agencies were being recognized for achieving over $1 million in sales for the airline during the event.
As for business out of Canada, Hays said that Cathay Pacific’s routes are “healthy” and the airline has had a “good” year from this market.
And he observed: “The market is competitive, but that’s always the way, you just have to keep delivering great service.”
In June, the airline celebrates 22 years of service out of Toronto; from Vancouver it has been operating for over 30 years; and in 2016, Cathay Pacific will mark its 70th anniversary of operations.
Hays noted that that the airline has continued to invest “huge amounts” in its products, recently overhauling all of its onboard cabins and it has also been rolling out new airport lounges around the world, including the newly opened lounge at Vancouver airport.
Cathay Pacific will be hosting a Top Agent Award dinner in Western Canada on May 25 in Vancouver.
