New tech for Alaska Air passengers at LAX
Self-service and speed are two key points at the heart of the new Alaska Airlines "Airport of the Future"concept location in the refurbished LAX Terminal 6. Check-in counters have been replaced with check-in kiosks and new bag-check stations will reduce the average waiting time for passengers with checked baggage from 20 minutes to less than four minutes, says Alaska Air. Canadians love Florida and as the Sunshine State's number one international market for 2011 saw a 5.7% increase over 2010. Preliminary figures indicate 3,278,000 Canadians visited Florida in 2011, up from 3,102,000 in 2010. Last year, about 1,893,000 Canadians flew to various parts of the state and another 1,385,000 drove to Florida. David Foster event changes venue
The Oak Bay Beach Hotel in Victoria, which had been planning to open in late May with a special David Foster concert package, has announced it won't be ready in time for the event. Los Angeles has unveiled a new identity for visitors and convention attendees. The Los Angeles Convention and Visitors Bureau has changed its name to the Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board.
