Air Canada launches JFK service
With the launch of its service to New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport from Toronto (inaugurated today, May 3), Air Canada becomes the only Canadian airline serving all three of the Big Apple's major airports. Emirates celebrates stopover anniversary
Emirates is celebrating the one-year anniversary of its Dubai Stopover program out of Canada. The carrier reports that in its first year in market, the hotel and sightseeing package has exceeded sales targets by an average of 50% across Canada, with particularly strong growth from western Canada. Commenting on the success of the program, Emirates' manager Canada, Don McWilliam said: "Canadians appreciate a one-stop package that offers a wide range of accommodations, UAE visa support and first class service on the ground and in flight." Keauhou Beach tees it up
The Keauhou Beach Resort is featuring a new Kona Golf Trail package that offers its guests an opportunity to play three rounds of golf at select courses. Available through Dec. 21, 2012, the package is priced from $517 for one golfer and $677 for two golfers. Wilderness cruises start sailing from Pitt Meadows
Starting this month, Paddle Wheeler River Boat Tours in Pitt Meadows, BC will offer the Pitt Lake Wilderness Tour. The luncheon cruise departs from Pitt Meadows Airport on a catamaran passenger vessel for a narrated cruise from the Fraser River to Pitt Lake. The tour passes Douglas Island, a provincial wildlife preserve and its not uncommon to see black bear, deer, eagles, osprey and seals as the tour enters Pitt Lake. Fairmont Scottsdale breaks ground on new conference centre
Determined to give guests a distinctive Southwest meeting destination, the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess has broken ground on a new conference centre. It will add 4,800 square metres of indoor meeting space to the new Palomino Ballroom. Set to debut in November, the new US$20 million conference centre will give the resort a total of 14,000 square metres of event space.
