Agents can now win one of five $1,000 cash prizes when clients book any cruise with Encore Cruise as part of the "Cruise for Cash"promotion. The promotion is valid on all new cruise bookings made between Sept. 17 and Oct. 22 for departures between Oct. 1 and March 31, 2013. It is applicable to any destination, for any duration, and on cruise line offered by Encore Cruises. Crystal updates smoking, dress policies
In keeping with the increasing national and international restrictions on smoking in public spaces, Crystal Cruises is designating more areas of its ships as smoke-free. Effective with the cruise line's first cruises in 2013, smoking will be prohibited in the Avenue Saloon and Casino, joining most areas of the ships, including The Bistro, inside the Lido Café, Palm Court, Stardust (Crystal Serenity), Starlight (Crystal Symphony), the Crystal Dining Room, Prego, Silk Road and The Sushi Bar restaurants, and the Galaxy Lounge. Cruising has economy sailing
The North American cruise industry continued to expand its contribution to the U.S. economy in 2011 according to an independent study commissioned by Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA). Direct purchases by CLIA's 26 member lines and their passengers and crew totalled approximately $19 billion resulting in $40.4 billion in total economic impact. The related cruise industry spending generated nearly 350,000 jobs paying $16.5 billion in wages to American workers.
