Etihad Airways has welcomed the decision by the Australian Government to allow it to increase its equity stake in Virgin Australia Holdings to a maximum of 10%. Etihad currently has a 4.99% stake in Virgin Australia, acquired earlier this year, and had applied to Australia's Foreign Investment Review Board (FIRB) to raise the level of its investment. WestJet is adding four new sun destinations and extend two more from seasonal to year-round as part of its 2012-2013 winter schedule.
