Canadian media return from Las Vegas FAM

The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) and Reach Global Marketing, who represents the destination in Canada, recently hosted a small group of Canadian journalists on a Summer Spontaneity FAM.

Running from July 28 to Aug. 1, the trip saw media visit some of the top hotels in the city, including Caesar’s Palace, Rio Hotel & Casino, Fontainebleau Las Vegas, Palms Casino Resort, SAHARA, and The Cosmopolitan.

The group also had the opportunity to check out some of the hottest attractions on the strip, including AREA 51 and The Sphere, one of the strip’s newer attractions, which opened in September 2023.

The Sphere Experience in Las Vegas offers a cutting-edge show featuring a specially commissioned film by Darren Aronofsky. Combining sci-fi storytelling with nature documentary elements, the show uses the world’s largest high-definition screen and haptic chairs to create an immersive experience. Visitors are greeted by Aura, a humanoid robot, and can explore avatar captures and holographic images, making it a unique addition to the Las Vegas entertainment scene.

Minutes from the Las Vegas Strip, AREA15 is the world’s first purpose-built immersive entertainment district. Featuring live events, interactive art installations, unique retail, and groundbreaking technology, AREA15 offers a dynamic mix of destinations. Highlights include Meow Wolf’s Omega Mart, Illuminarium, Dueling Axes, Five Iron Golf, and The Beast by Todd English. With a constantly evolving lineup of concerts, art exhibitions, nightlife, and production shows, AREA15 provides an unforgettable experience for visitors of all ages.

“Between the ease of access with direct flights from six cities in Canada and the almost guaranteed odds of sunshine and great pool weather, Vegas is the perfect spot for a quick, spur of the moment summer getaway,” said Molly Castano, vice-president of public relations and communications for the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA).

Known for its culinary scene, the FAM also took journalists to some of the city’s best restaurants, including Komodo Las Vegas, Brezza, LPM restaurant and Bar, and Peter Luger Steak House, New York’s top-rated and Michelin-starred dining institution.

“Vegas changes at lightning speed. Constantly introducing new and noteworthy activities, restaurants, and experiences,” Castano said. “It’s vital we keep the travel industry in the know on all that’s happening in Vegas to ensure they can be the experts when it comes to helping their clients plan the perfect trip.”
