Christine Willow, chair of the Tourism Industry Association of BC (TIABC), has announced the appointment of Ian Robertson as executive director of TIABC, effective immediately. “The Board is thrilled to have Ian working with us,” said Willow. “His background and experience in the tourism industry will be a huge asset and we look forward to having Ian engage with our members and work collaboratively with the other industry associations and tourism businesses in BC.”

“I am very pleased to be working with TIABC,” said Robertson. “I have tremendous passion for tourism in this province and will do what I can to work with the many businesses and industry associations to ensure tourism has a strong voice and is recognized as the economic driver it is.”

Robertson spent over eight years in various senior roles in sustainability, communications and public affairs and sales at Rocky Mountaineer before working with TIABC. He was also an elected Park Commissioner in Vancouver from 2005 to 2011 and was chair of the Park Board in 2007.
