Scenic Group Canada, parent organization of cruise companies Scenic Luxury Cruises & Tours, Scenic Eclipse and Emerald Waterways, has announced the move of senior director of sales Derek Legault into the dual role of director of national sales and BDM Southwestern Ontario, the company’s largest market.

“After 25 years of working in the travel industry, four of them with Scenic, and living on Canada’s west coast, I am very excited to be moving back to Ontario, focusing on fuelling Scenic’s and Emerald Waterways’ continued growth with our national accounts and our trade partners,” commented Legault. “Having worked in so many facets of the industry across Canada and originally coming from the trade side, I look forward to working closely with all the great relationships I have built over the years.”
The new GM sales position is responsible for developing and managing all aspects of the Scenic and Emerald Waterways Canada sales operations. This list includes, but is not limited to retail and group channels of distribution; leverage existing trade relationships in furtherance of sales goals and brand awareness; mentor, support and manage field sales staff; Consortium accounts and ROI initiatives; and development of travel agent tools and programs. Senior sales management experience and leadership skills in team settings are among several expectations for candidates.
