Playa Hotels & Resorts
Playa Hotels & Resorts is expanding its Canadian sales team with the addition of Christian Roussin as its business development manager of Quebec and Atlantic Canada.
Roussin, who takes on his new post on Nov. 5, joins Playa during a period of rapid growth for the all-inclusive resort company that follows the September announcement of Playa’s strategic alliance with Hilton.
Under that partnership, Playa will rebrand two of its all-inclusive resorts – The Royal Playa del Carmen and Dreams La Romana as Hilton All-Inclusive Resorts — before year end.
Roussin attended the Université du Québec/TÉLUQ and holds a certificate in National and International Travel from Collège April-Fortier. He comes to Playa with over 18 years of travel trade experience, most recently with WestJet and WestJet Vacations.
Highly regarded in the region, Roussin’s extensive travel trade experience will be instrumental in Playa’s growth within Quebec and Atlantic Canada.
As business development manager, Roussin’s responsibilities include managing leisure and group sales in addition to working closely with Playa’s travel partners. He will play a key role in building and maintaining Playa’s consumer presence for the company within Quebec and Atlantic Canada.
Rose Cosentino, Playa Hotels & Resorts’ vice-president, sales – Canada, said, “The creation of the new position validates Playa’s commitment to the Canadian market and travel agent community. I am thrilled to have Christian join the Playa family. Not only is Christian well respected within the travel community but I’m also confident that he will be a complement to our existing team.”
