Britain Hosts Air Canada Race
The Air Canada Race is back in a big way as its sixth edition will take place in Britain – the first time it will be held outside of North America.
The race is a national travel agent competition hosted by Air Canada that was inspired by the television show, The Amazing Race. The initiative was last held in 2010.
From June 12-17, agents will race along a trail of discovery through London and Edinburgh’s most famous landmarks. The competitive sightseeing experience culminates with an adrenalin-packed quiz based on clues they’ve solved throughout the event. Working in teams of four, the agents will compete for individual prizes. The grand prize is a trip for two to Scotland, the second prize is an Air Canada Vacations trip to London and third prize is two Air Canada system tickets.
The race has come together as a joint effort of Air Canada, VisitBritain, VisitScotland, Live The City and many other sponsors.
The contest to qualify as a participant was open to more than 3,000 travel agents from across Canada and ran January – March.
