North American travel agents can now plan and book their own independent familiarization trip with the new Explore PLUS Program from Tourism New Zealand.

Explore PLUS provides agents with over 500 air, land, accommodation and attraction discounts and resources to design a personally curated New Zealand itinerary.

This is an exclusive program for IATA and CLIA agents in the U.S. and Canada, with the goal is to better equip agents with knowledge and first-hand experiences to help grow their New Zealand sales.

Michelle Rosenberg, senior trade manager, North America for Tourism New Zealand, said: “Educating travel agents about New Zealand continues to be top priority in North America. We saw great interest and demand in the pilot agent fare program run earlier this year and we hope this flexible, DIY extension incentivizes even more agents to participate and visit New Zealand.”

A journey to New Zealand is a check box to achieving Gold status in the 100% Pure New Zealand Specialist Program. To be eligible for the PLUS Program, agents must hold Bronze certification.

Said Rosenberg: “We hope the ability to bring a partner or friend in addition to planning the trip at your own schedule and pace resonates with travel agents. This program offers heaps of discounts and amazing experiences, especially in the shoulder season, which is a wonderful time of year to visit.”
