Baxter Media Welcomes Christine Hogg To Its Editorial Team
Baxter Media is pleased to announce that Christine Hogg has joined its editorial team on a full-time basis and has been appointed as Editor, Digital & Consumer Media.
Since 2021, Christine has been the Editor for OFFSHORE Travel Magazine — OFFSHORE is Baxter Media’s consumer publication, focusing on luxury travel and is distributed to an exclusive pocket of recreational homes in the Muskoka region, as well as to subscribers of Canada’s national newspaper, The Globe and Mail.
Under her guidance, OFFSHORE strategically increased its print circulation to a quarterly basis and further enhanced its suite of web offerings, including the launch of a weekly newsletter.
In her new role, Christine will continue to manage the editorial strategy for OFFSHORE, and will also take on the role of Editor, Press Today. She will further contribute stories to both Canadian Travel Press and Travel Courier on a regular basis.
“We are committed to growing our business and supporting the travel industry by investing in talented, experienced and innovative people,” said Wendy McClung, Executive VP and Publisher of OFFSHORE. “Christine’s participation will be a perfect complement to our highly respected editorial team composed of Bob Mowat, Ann Ruppenstein, Ian Stalker and Ted Davis.”
Christine’s extensive writing background in culinary and travel will also be fundamental to the success of Baxter Media’s new Culinary Travels series, with the first issue appearing most recently in The Globe and Mail. It is also distributed in print and digitally through Canadian Travel Press.
An experienced journalist and editor, Christine’s background in writing for web and print spans more than a decade. She holds an honours B.A. in journalism from the University of Toronto, accompanied by an advanced diploma in journalism from Centennial College. Her work has previously appeared in leading publications, including The Globe and Mail, The Toronto Star, MSN.com and more.
A familiar face in the Canadian travel industry and a big believer in continuous education, she has taken additional food and travel writing courses through the University of Toronto School of Continuing Studies (UTSCS).
Commenting on her appointment, Hogg said: “We’re finally at a place where the future of travel looks nothing but bright, and I’m excited to join a team who is equally focused on growth and innovation for the Canadian travel trade.”
Alongside her editorial responsibilities, Christine will cover local industry events as well as international press trips and conferences from both a trade and consumer perspective.
