Basecamp Revelstoke Set For Dec. 3 Opening

Basecamp Resorts newest hotel, Basecamp Revelstoke, will officially open its doors on Dec. 3, 2020.

The 32-unit property is situated just a short walk from downtown Revelstoke, overlooking the Columbia River and only a 15-minute drive to the world-famous Revelstoke Mountain Resort.

Designed for families, avid adventure seekers and powder junkies alike, Basecamp provides epic views, modern amenities, top notch service along with all of the comforts of home. The announcement was made today by Basecamp Resorts CEO Sky McLean.

Basecamp Revelstoke is the newest addition to the Basecamp Resorts family which already includes 4 properties in Canmore Alberta: Basecamp Canmore, Basecamp Lodge, Lamphouse Hotel and the recently opened Basecamp Suites.

From its inception, Basecamp Resorts adopted a completely automated check-in system which enables guests to access units via private, exterior entrances without having any physical contact with staff or other guests. Basecamp’s unique design has proven to be a lifeline in this new world of COVID-19, providing families and adventure seekers an incredible vacation option in these uncertain times.

At Basecamp Resorts, the health and welfare of all guests, employees, and community is the primary focus. As COVID-19 continues to be felt around the world, Basecamp will be doing their part to keep everyone safe. Nested above the riverbank overlooking the Columbia River, the hotel’s location greatly influences the overall design strategy through an architectural dichotomy. Ground floor units anchor the buildings into the mountainside, reminiscent of the historic local dam. This level is clad in stone and evokes a sense of tectonic attachment.

Above, two-storey townhouse units are “deposited” and “shifted” in the direction of the flowing river.  This both parallels the geography with building design as well as captures the optimal southwest views, elevated above the stone podium and finished with contrasting materials.

This experience translates to the interior unit layouts, where vaulted living spaces capitalize on the exceptional scenery and mountain adventures waiting beyond.

All original artworks were commissioned and produced by local Revelstoke artist, Hayley Stewart.

Basecamp Resorts Revelstoke are built entirely energy efficient to reduce its impact on the environment. The building produces minimal greenhouse gas emissions, uses low amounts of water, needs less energy to operate, and was made with less waste.
