Back In Full Swing: The Baxter Student Ambassador Program Returns For 2022
Now more than ever, the Baxter Student Ambassador Program (BSAP) plays a vital role in the long-term survival of the travel industry. Now in its 8th year, the program continues to work with colleges and universities from all across Canada to identify the most promising student talent in participating travel, tourism, and hospitality programs.
Every year, amazing opportunities for learning and networking await the winning Ambassadors. Through hands-on experience, professional development, networking, membership opportunities, and virtual event invitations, these high achievers will be validated for their hard work and commitment as they begin their careers in the exciting world of travel.
As an inspiring new incentive for 2022, each winning Baxter Ambassador from our participating schools will be assigned their own carefully-selected mentor to provide them with helpful advice as they transition into their chosen career field upon graduation. These 1-on-1 mentorships will involve phone calls, video chats, resume feedback and editing sessions, and more.
Based on a combination of academic success, industry and community involvement, leadership skills, and a webinar presentation on a BSAP partner’s product or destination, one graduating student from each of our 14 participating schools will be named as the Baxter Student Ambassador, a designation that goes beyond the honour it holds.
With the support of our partners and sponsors, winning Baxter Student Ambassadors will have their profile published in the special BSAP issue of Travel Courier, a one-year membership to ACTA including access to the Learning Campus, a one-year membership to TIAO, subscription to all Baxter media publications, access to networking and mentorship opportunities, and access to the BSAP Alumni Association via LinkedIn.
Of course, BSAP wouldn’t be possible without the participation of our generous sponsors and partners ACTA, Manulife, SKAL Canada, and TIAO – who provide students with a helping hand to kick-start their careers.
Launched in the 2014-2015 school year with Humber College, BSAP is the only travel and tourism student mentoring program of its kind in Canada offering learning and networking opportunities for aspiring travel industry professionals.
