Avalon Delivers Special Interest Culinary Cruises
Thanks to an increased interest in themed cruises over the past five years, Avalon Waterways has tripled its culinary, wine and beer-themed offerings for 2016.
The river cruise company is offering travellers six wine-themed itineraries, three beer-focused special interest cruises and one departure dedicated to helping travellers indulge their culinary cravings.
“It’s no secret that one of the main reasons Canadians travel to Europe is for the food and wine,” says Avalon’s Stéphanie Bishop. “What a great way to combine a love of Europe with the experience of sailing past those very vineyards and abundant fields and orchards that supply our ships.”
Onboard presentations by experts and tastings – all included in the cruise price – help enhance the experience.
Wine Appreciation Cruises: Burgundy & Provence – March 21 and Oct. 23 & 27, 2016 departures; Grand France – March 21, Oct. 18 & 22 departures; Rhine & Rhône Revealed – Oct. 22; Canals, Vineyards & Paris – Oct. 25; The Blue Danube Discovery – Oct. 30, Nov. 2 & 5; Grand Danube Cruise – Oct. 26 & 28.
