AUGUST IS ‘GROUP MONTH’ AT CARNIVAL

Carnival Cruise Lines is naming August “Group Month”for travel agents. From Aug. 1 through Aug. 31, the cruise line is offering agents a group promotion featuring attractive group rates on virtually all sailings between Dec.1 and May 31, 2014. In addition, as part of the promotion, Carnival is offering agents one free cruise berth for every 10 full fare guests berthed, versus the current policy of one free cruise berth for every 15 full fare guests berthed. To support agents during “Group Month,”Carnival is also expanding its group department hours of operation during August to include Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. EST. “In our first month of Carnival Conversations, travel agents told us they would like to see Carnival offer better, more competitive group promotions, and to have enhanced group contact center support,”said Joni Rein, vice-president of worldwide sales. “We know August is a big month for travel agents to book groups, so we wanted to show our support by offering them lower group rates, giving them a more favorable tour conductor credit earning opportunity and expanding our group department hours to include weekends.”(http://www.GoCCL.com)
