Arajet inaugurates operations from Punta Cana airport
Arajet, the Dominican low-price airline officially inaugurated its operations from Punta Cana Airport (PUJ) in a protocol act headed by executives of the Puntacana Group, state authorities of the Dominican aeronautical sector, and executives of Arajet, which has been operating since October 27.
Víctor Pacheco, Arajet CEO, and founder, indicated that the airline continues expanding its network destinations and connecting this important tourist centre with the American continent, from Canada to Argentina.
In addition, he reported that this month is doubly special because Arajet exceeded one million passengers flown in 2024 (including in transit passengers), becoming the first time in history that a Dominican airline reached this figure in a year.
“For Arajet, it is a commitment to promote the tourist’s arrival to the country by offering them more opportunities to visit the Dominican Republic at the lowest market prices through our robust destinations network and the more than 200 combinations of connections that we currently offer,” said Pacheco, who added that its main objective is to “turn the Dominican Republic into the new continent air hub. Today we celebrate a great step in Dominican Republic’s tourism development and air connectivity, with the arrival of Arajet at Punta Cana Airport. Since its inception, this airline has
demonstrated a firm commitment to quality, efficiency, and the expansion of opportunities for our nation,” said Frank Elías Rainieri, Puntacana Group CEO. “We deeply appreciate Arajet’s trust in our infrastructure, in the capacity of the Punta Cana team, and in the potential of our nation. This is just the beginning of a long and successful collaboration, and we assure you that in us, you will find a committed ally to continue growing and achieving new goals,”Rainieri emphasized.
Punta Cana Airport has maintained its commitment to innovation, which has allowed it to be one of the best airports in Latin America. Its constant growth connects with 75 cities in 34 countries through 58 airlines and mobilizes over 9 million passengers a year.
The airline explained that Punta Cana Airport has become Arajet’s third destination in the Dominican Republic and are flying to and from Bogotá, Cartagena, and Medellín in Colombia; Cancun and Mexico City in Mexico; Quito and Guayaquil in Ecuador; Toronto and Montreal in Canada; Kingston, Jamaica; Lima, Peru; Sao Paulo, Brazil, Santiago de Chile, and Buenos Aires in Argentina.
Arajet maintains its operations from Las Americas International Airport and Cibao International Airport to continue offering a memorable experience with the highest international quality standards.
Arajet is currently the Dominican airline with the largest passenger movement, surpassing the barrier of 100,000 passengers for several consecutive months while maintaining first place among the local Dominican Republic airlines.
