Air Canada Celebrates New Routes
Air Canada continued celebrating its 11 new routes with an agent appreciation event in Toronto last night (April 6) at the top of the Manulife tower.
Front and centre were new routes to the likes of Warsaw, Budapest and Prague, along with Seoul, Korea; but there is also new service to London and US destinations like Washington, DC, Jacksonville and Salt Lake City.
Air Canada VP of Global Sales Duncan Bureau (pictured) noted that the airline has invested $9 billion in new aircraft and jokingly asked the 100 or so guests to each leave $10 at the door to help pay for it.
“A healthy, strong Air Canada is important for the [travel] industry in Canada,” he said, adding that airline is doing its part with its significant expansion, labour stability (recent agreements with three of its unions), development of Toronto as a “super hub,” and the fact that by 2020 it will have one of the youngest fleets in the world.
