A little incentive for advisors from Goway, Visit Brisbane and Air Canada
Close to 100 travel advisors were welcomed to Toronto’s Omni King Edward Hotel by Goway, Visit Brisbane and Air Canada last night (Dec. 3) to learn everything they need to know about Goway’s Brisbane and Australia programs; why they should send their clients to Brisbane; and that the best way to get those clients to that destination is aboard Air Canada’s Vancouver to Brisbane flights.
Hosts Anthony Saba, Vice President South Pacific for Goway, Kylie Robertson, marketing for Visit Brisbane and Mark Hashimoto, Manager Regional Sales for Air Canada provided advisors attending the event with the kind of information and insights that they need to effectively sell the destination and services to their clients.
And for those asking why, Saba, Robertson and Hashimoto had some great responses.
Endless options from Brisbane
Goway’s Saba came straight to the point when asked that question, telling Travel Press Today (TPT) that Goway is number one “for customizing trips to Australia no matter what travel style” of the client is.
And, in this respect, Saba pointed out that for travel advisors who may not get many inquiries about Australia, when they do, the best place to go is to Goway because “we’re the experts.”
To reinforce this point, Saba told his audience that Goway, a Canadian-based, family company that has operated for 55 years, does everything when it comes to Australia, with its programs tailored to meet the needs of all types travellers by its travel experts, all of whom have either lived or stayed in the destination.
Saba demonstrated that expertise, showing travel advisors all of the different options and itineraries in and out of Brisbane that Goway could create for their clients and, not to put too fine a point on it, the options are almost endless.

All about Brisbane and a new incentive for advisors
Ask Kylie Robertson, Marketing, North America for Visit Brisbane, the question: Why Brisbane? And she’ll tell you that while it may not be a city that’s as well-known as some others, “we believe it’s the best launching pad to an Australian vacation.”
Robertson told her audience that Brisbane is “the Australian city with the biggest backyard, fantastic weather, great new hotels and unique wildlife and activities.”
There’s definitely a lot going on in Brisbane these days, with a host of new hotels coming on scene, new attractions and more as the city prepares to host the Olympics in 2032.
She observed: “We’re the perfect three-day itinerary to start your holiday.”
Robertson also took the opportunity to announce a new incentive for travel advisors, with Visit Brisbane teaming up with Air Canada and media partner, Baxter Media and Travel Courier.
The trio of partners are offering travel advisors the opportunity to earn their spot on an upcoming Australia FAM while cashing in on a special Brisbane Bucks booking incentive.
Robertson explained to her audience that for every new booking travel agents make for their clients to Brisbane (BNE) from Vancouver (YVR) on Air Canada, they will receive a $50 Mastercard gift card and be in the running to be part of the FAM trip complete with Air Canada economy tickets from Vancouver to Brisbane, four nights accommodation and touring in the Brisbane region.
She also made it clear that the initiative recognizes the role that travel advisors play, and also pointed out that Brisbane is the closest entry point into Australia, with the city’s airport seeing Canadian travellers getting from jetway to curb in 20 minutes.

Air Canada: The best way to get to Brisbane
As for getting there, will Air Canada takes care of that quite nicely.
Mark Hashimoto told TPT that: “We are the only carrier operating direct into Brisbane from Canada with daily flights during the winter and five weekly flights during the summer season.”
The service is aboard Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft featuring three classes of service – Signature Class, Premium Economy and Economy.
He pointed out that operating out of its YVR hub, Air Canada can provide travel advisors’ clients with multiple connections, allowing them to connect seamlessly with the late evening departures and early morning arrivals of its Brisbane flights.
Of note, Hashimoto said that of Air Canada’s three Australia gateways, demand for Brisbane has made it the second most popular of those gateways.
