How to make the most of RVC 2023 social events

Rendez-vous Canada (RVC) may be all about business but that doesn’t mean you can’t have a little fun while you’re at it! We have curated a variety of networking opportunities and social events for you to enjoy throughout the week. Make connections, share ideas and enjoy some hospitality with new friends.

Check out our top three tips to help you make the most of RVC 2023’s networking events:
  1. Have some conversation starters ready

Striking up a conversation with someone you’ve never met before can be intimidating. Whether you’re looking to join a conversation or start your own, it’s important to go in with the right approach. Here’s a few conversation starters to get you started:
    • Where do you work?
    • Have you been to RVC before?
    • Have you taken in any of the local sights?

  2. Use active listening

One of the most important parts of building relationships is practicing active listening. This shows you are paying attention to and understanding what the other person is saying. Be sure to ask follow-up questions – this can help you learn if your services can help them.

  3. Make your pitch

Once you’ve given the other person a chance to speak, be prepared to give your elevator pitch. Introduce yourself, describe what you do and why you do it.

Saskatchewan Inspires

Saskatchewan is known for its wide-open landscapes and living skies – where a dome of blue sky is painted with cotton candy clouds, and sunrises and sunsets are an uninterrupted spectacle of colour and light. Night skies are equally dramatic, with shows of dancing northern lights and a picture of the Milky Way that sparks wonder and curiosity. There’s music in the roar of rushing water and the sound of thousands of migrating birds overhead. Saskatchewan hospitality is all about food – flavours that celebrate the province’s multicultural heritage, showcase the quality of ingredients and products, and nurture appreciation of the land and its bounty. Visit Saskatchewan and you’ll be immersed in storytelling about Indigenous peoples, their traditions and connection to the land. In cities, towns and communities throughout the province, residents are eager to share what makes Saskatchewan a fascinating and inspiring destination.
