Sunquest is counting on Canadian travellers who are on the quest for holidays that go beyond the typical sun vacations, reports Ann Ruppenstein in this week’s digital edition of Canadian Travel Press.

From a 10th century Moorish castle to luxury over-the-water suites in Jamaica or a 5-star hotel room overlooking the Colosseum in Rome, TravelBrands announced the launch of the new premium Experiences by Sunquest program, which features eight niche collection styles including Cruise, Amazing Views, Historic, Luxury and Incredible Rooms.

“Travellers this year will spend more money on the following things: sightseeing, special dining experiences, accommodations and unique places to visit. Today’s travellers are well connected using travel sites like TripAdvisor as a tool to explore their imagination towards their next journey,” Frank Demarinis, president and CEO of TravelBrands, said at a recent VIP launch event at the company’s headquarters in Mississauga, Ont.

“Experiences by Sunquest has taken your clients imagination and has assembled them in one collection for your clients to discover untouched, unique places to visit, to create unforgettable travel memories, cross that once in a lifetime experience off their bucket list, push the boundaries of their comfort zone and enjoy closer to home experiences,” he stated.

While the newly launched 148 page brochure, which is being distributed this month, still boasts vacations in Sunquest’s traditional sun destinations, the 109 air-inclusive packages also transcend into South America, Europe and North America – even Canada with packages at The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise and Fairmont Le Château Frontenac.

“The 21 century travellers are looking for new unique experiences, luxury travellers want to learn, understand the cultures and history of the places they visit, they want to experience it like the locals,” he says. “It features unique, traditional destinations, exceptional hotels with distinctive room types, and cruise cabins like you’ve never seen before.”
