Dominican Food Fest Set For Toronto

The Dominican Food Fest, sponsored by the Ministry of Tourism of the Dominican Republic, will be open to the public at Marché in Toronto Nov. 2-4.

According to officials, the event will allow guests to be transported to the sun just as winter starts in Toronto, with a customized menu created by innovative food pioneer Ines Paez Nin, also known as Chef Tita (pictured).

Chef Tita uses avant garde cooking techniques to artfully elevate traditional ingredients and recipes to the stature of fine cuisine, and has developed an international reputation as the food ambassador of her home country, catering events around the globe. The Dominican Food Fest will also feature exhibits of local crafts and artwork, and diners will take home specially crafted gifts by Dominican artisans.

The Food Fest will kick off with an invitation-only food demonstration for media and partners, with Chef Tita demonstrating the use of Dominican cacao. The event will then open to the public at Marché Brookfield Place, 181 Bay Street, Street Level. The public areas of Marché will feature displays of artwork and crafts, and guests will be served dishes from Chef Tita’s menu in Dominican crockery that they can keep as gifts.
