Insight Into Europe
Brett Tollman, global CEO of The Travel Corporation, had a message for the trade in attendance yesterday (Oct. 4) at Insight Vacations’ brochure launch for the 2017 Europe Premium Escorted Journeys and the 2017 Luxury Gold programs: keep supporting countries that have been impacted by bombings and terrorist attacks like Turkey, Egypt and France.
“Europe has obviously been challenged in many ways, we certainly don’t want to see a repeat of 2016, but that said these are very uncertain times, and there’s very likely to be more events somewhere and we’ve just got to work through them and continue to encourage people to get out there and travel,” he says. “Tourism is a force of good, it does generate better understanding.”
Featuring Spanish food and held in conjunction with Tourism Spain, the event highlighted the differences and unique features of both programs, which are being presented in the market separately this year.
“Luxury Gold was a venture that’s been unfolding over the last several years as a high-end offer under the Insight Vacations banner, this year we’ve really separated the Insight Vacations and Luxury Gold brands to kind of highlight the unique identity of each of them, and to help clarify things in the minds of our trade partners and enable them to sell the products more easily and clearly.”
Insight Vacations, which celebrated 35 years in business in Canada this year, is offering several new tours for 2017, including the 13-day Country Roads of Southern Scandinavia and Luxury Gold trips to South America, South Pacific and Indochina. Significant price decreases compared to 2016 are being offered to entice more travellers to embark on trips.
