Jann Arden to Host Avalon Cruise
Canadian singer Jann Arden will host a special sailing of Avalon Waterways next year – Paris to Normandy departing April 29, 2017.
As well as mingling with passengers, Arden (who will be on board for four of the seven days), will perform a private concert for passengers and participate in a photo op and CD signing.
Arden, who acted as godmother of the ship Avalon Tranquility II in 2015, is a fan of river cruising and says she’s very much looking forward to joining the group.
The cruise originates in Paris and continues north along the Seine to Vernon where guests have the choice of a tour of artist Monet’s home at Giverny or the Bizy Castle – “Normandy’s Versailles.” The next day there will be the choice of touring the Thatched Cottage Roof or visiting several of the 100 ancient Abbeys that dot this corner of France. The following day, Arden will accompany the group to Juno beach; and the next day will be a guided walk through the medieval charms of Rouen, once home to Joan of Arc.
Before sailing back to Paris, the ship will also stop at Conflans for a visit to a village where artist Vincent Van Gogh lived, or the splendid Château de Malmaison estate which was Napoleon and Josephine Bonaparte’s home.
The cruise will be on board the 128-passenger Avalon Tapestry II, which was launched last year with the majority of accommodation in the company’s signature Panorama suites – 200-sq.-ft. staterooms featuring wall-to-wall windows which open over two metres, plus window-facing beds.
The cruise is priced from $3,786 (excluding airfare), but travellers can save 15% when booking by April 5.
