Striking It Rich With HAL
In honour of the 120th anniversary of the Klondike Gold Rush, Holland America Line (HAL) has launched a “Find Your Gold” giveaway that will award five lucky travellers an authentic gold nugget valued at approximately $1,000 each.
HAL’s travel agent partners also can strike it rich with the chance to win a gold nugget and earn bonus commissions for 2016 Yukon+Denali Land+Sea Journey bookings. New bookings will earn an additional $50 commission, and the top Yukon+Denali booking agent will win a nugget valued at nearly $1,000.
“Holland America Line was looking for a memorable way to celebrate the anniversary of the Klondike Gold Rush and the gold nugget is a fun incentive for our travel partners to use to entice their clients to book a Yukon+Denali adventure,” said Eva Jenner, Holland America Line’s vice-president of North America sales. “The bonus commission and gold nugget for the top-producing Yukon agent is our way of showing our travel partners how much we appreciate and value their support.”
In 2016, Holland America will offer 149 voyages and 248 Land+Sea Journeys to The Last Frontier. Guests who book and travel on any 2016 Yukon+Denali Land+Sea Journey will be eligible to win one of the five gold nuggets. Most Yukon+Denali Land+Sea Journey adventures feature a complimentary gold panning experience (pictured below, photo by Andy Newman) at historic Gold Dredge #8 in Fairbanks, where guests can learn about the life of a prospector and test their own skills to find the mother lode.
The giveaway runs through Sept. 2 and the five winners are scheduled to be selected mid-September in a random drawing. The travel professional nugget will also be awarded in September.
HAL will have seven ships exploring Alaska’s majestic landscapes from May through September this year. The ships offering seven- and 14-day Alaska cruises are Amsterdam, Maasdam, Nieuw Amsterdam, Noordam, Volendam, Westerdam and Zaandam.
