SkyGreece Airlines launched its North American operations with its first flight between Toronto and Athens taking off on May 23.

There’s more to come as the carrier prepares to begin service to Budapest, Thessaloniki, Zagreb and New York to Athens in June.

And celebration was definitely in the air in both Toronto and Montreal where passengers were waiting to board on flight GW 424 to Athens with SkyGreece Airlines.

Bill Alefantis, chief commercial officer at SkyGreece Airlines, noted that it took a lot of passion, hard work and perseverance, but the dream has finally come true and “we are extremely proud of our team.”

Alefantis also thanked travel agencies who have “have supported us in this great adventure.”
