Happy Birthday SLH
This year sees Small Luxury Hotels of the World celebrating its 25th anniversary, with spokeswoman Erin Woodward saying it has used the past quarter of a century to truly build a global presence.
Woodward said at a gathering in Toronto last week that Small Luxury Hotels of the World now has some 520 four- and five-star properties in 80 countries, creating a “very international” presence.
“We are small in the number of rooms [per property],” she continued. “Across the portfolio, the average is about 50 rooms.”
Woodward added smallish sizes of Small Luxury Hotels of the World serves guests well.
“In a small property, it’s easier to offer exceptional service. A lot of our hotels are operated by families. You check in and a lot of times you’ll meet the owner and they’re providing you with that unique local knowledge.”
Meanwhile, Woodward said Small Luxury Hotels of the World’s guest loyalty program now has 370,000 people enrolled.
Small Luxury Hotels of the World will hold a gathering in Spain later this year marking its 25th year.
