Brazil kicked off its World Cup of soccer campaign in Canada with a colourful trade event at the Ritz-Carlton hotel in Toronto on Nov. 1. But the goal of Embratur, the tourist board, is to promote travel to Brazil beyond the 2014 event (and 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics) by highlighting the tourism appeal of the 12 cities that will host World Cup games, including the show’s sponsor, Manaus. The Goal to Brasil event is calling in 14 countries globally through next year.
