Maid of the Mist patrons will be sporting pink ponchos the weekend of Oct. 19-21, part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. “In some way, everyone has been touched by breast cancer,” said James V. Glynn, chairman and CEO of the Maid of the Mist Corporation. “We’re happy to do our part to increase awareness about breast cancer and support efforts to develop a cure for this disease.” Throughout the weekend, the familiar blue ponchos that are given to every rider on the Maid of the Mist will give way to pink ponchos, featuring the Maid of the Mist logo and the breast cancer awareness logo. It will be the first time pink ponchos will be used. On the evening of Oct. 19, Niagara Falls will be illuminated in pink light, in support of breast cancer awareness.
