Tobago’s new Magdalena Grand Beach Resort is fully operational and the onetime Hilton is proudly sporting a new look. The four-star property — a Hilton from 2000 to 2008 and which was then closed for three years — reopened this year after US$25 million in renovations that saw the entire interior redone, except for the Robinson Crusoe Pub, which has long had a strong following. “Our hotel is a bit different than all the others in Tobago in terms of the size of the resort and all the offerings,” Ilyse Prokocimer-Karwoski, the 200-unit resort’s director of sales and marketing, said during a Toronto visit. “This caters to every niche market. We have the golf, we have the diving, the spa, the kids’ club.” Seen here (l to r) are Prokocimer-Karwoski.
