For the third year running, Goway invited more than 40 North American agents to journey from North America on one of four itineraries that met in Sydney for a special Downunder training workshop. Four groups departed North America aboard Air Pacific, Air New Zealand, Air Tahiti Nui or Qantas bound for the South Pacific on one of four destination adventures. After arriving in Fiji, the group spent some time on the mainland before their island hopping adventure to Castaway Island (where they met Wilson, one of the stars of the Tom Hanks movie of the same name), Malolo Island, Likuliku Island and Sonaisali, as well as time on the scenic Coral Coast of the mainland. In Tahiti, participants explored the main island, as well as Moorea and Bora Bora, and saw many of the resorts and room types available for their clients. The New Zealand group was guided by Goway’s groups manager, Barbara Norton, and explored the South Island. Connecting through to Kangaroo Island, the Australian group enjoyed time seeing the wildlife, including kangaroos, koalas and seals off the coast of Adelaide, South Australia. Just north of Sydney, they visited the Hunter Valley Wine Region and Port Stephens. The groups arrived in Sydney having explored Fiji, Tahiti, New Zealand or other parts of Australia, and each educational was designed to experience the destinations firsthand. All agents attended a training workshop in Sydney with over 50 suppliers and enjoyed a celebratory dinner.
