Christine James marks milestone anniversary with Travel Leaders Network
Raise a glass to Christine James who is celebrating her 25th anniversary working with Travel Leaders Network.
James, Vice President Canada for the group, has explored 92 countries – and intends to make it to 100 by the end of 2025 – drawing continued inspiration from her travels to fuel the passion she pours into her everyday work.
Over two and a half decades, James has become an icon in the Canadian market, well-known among Travel Leaders Network members and suppliers in Canada. During that time, she has solidified her reputation in the travel and tourism space, earning consistent recognition from industry professionals across the country.
Since joining the company in 1999 as Business Development Manager, James was subsequently promoted to the position of Director of National Sales, Canada, responsible for all in-market sales activity, including account management and recruitment.
In 2004, James was named Senior Director of Industry Relations where she was responsible for negotiating and managing all Canadian supplier partnerships.
In June 2008, she was promoted to Country Manager, Canada, and in 2010, she assumed her current position, Vice President, Canada, where she continues to successfully manage the Canada operation.
James leads a team of four, who manage all aspects of the member agency experience in Canada. These members are responsible for $520 million CAD. Under her leadership, Travel Leaders Network has grown to over 600 Canadian members who have access to over 100 supplier partnerships.
When asked what this milestone means to her, James observed: “I’m so proud and privileged to celebrate my 25th work anniversary with such a well-respected company like Travel Leaders Network. I can’t believe how the time has flown so quickly, and I am thrilled to be able to continue this journey with such a great company.”
She continued: “I’m also grateful to have worked with so many talented individuals over the years, including many of our members and suppliers who I first started with back in 1999. I think this is the wrong date I consider them part of the family. I’ve formed many close bonds and friendships which makes coming to work every day even more rewarding.”
Roger E. Block, President, Travel Leaders Network, said that: “Working with Christine is a privilege. Over her 25 years, she has successfully led the Canadian market, and today, she plays a tremendous role in the continued growth of our company. We are all indebted to her for her unwavering commitment, support and outstanding leadership.”
