Ann Ruppenstein wins Best Travel Trade Article at Discover America Day Canada

Baxter Media’s Managing Editor Ann Ruppenstein was awarded the Best Travel Trade Article for her Las Vegas Supplement at Discover America Day Canada, held yesterday (Oct. 30) in Toronto.

Discover America Canada Day, now in its 16th year, welcomed 27 suppliers, travel professionals and members of the media for a day of learning and networking amongst representatives from some of the top travel destinations in the U.S.

The Las Vegas supplement, which was published in April 2024, highlights some of the destination’s key selling points, including new hotels and accommodations, new attractions and cultural landmarks, and information on how to best explore Las Vegas from the Canadian market.

Baxter Media publisher Mitchell McClung accepts Discover America Canada’s award for Best Travel Trade Article on behalf of Ann Ruppenstein.

Ruppenstein, who is currently travelling on the European River Cruise Summit with Avalon Waterways and ACTA, says she was thrilled to hear the news. “I was honoured to hear the news from back home that I had won the award,” Ruppenstein said. “A lot of hard work went into this project so I appreciate the acknowledgement. What happens in Vegas doesn’t always stay in Vegas.”

“Las Vegas is honoured to be featured in this award-winning travel supplement, recognized for excellence in travel journalism by Discover America Canada,” added Molly Castano, vice-president, public relations and communications, Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority. “We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Ann for winning the Travel Trade Article Award, a testament to her dedication and skill in capturing the spirit of Las Vegas. This supplement serves as an invaluable resource, offering readers an insider’s view of our city’s unforgettable experiences, from world-renowned entertainment and dining to unique attractions and nightlife. We’re proud to be part of this guide and look forward to welcoming travellers inspired by its pages.”
