Arajet starts operations at Punta Cana Airport
Arajet, the low-priced Dominican airline launched operations from Punta Cana Airport (PUJ) expanding its network of destinations and connecting this important tourist centre with North America.
The Dominican flag line will initially operate 14 destinations from and to Punta Cana. These include Kingston in Jamaica; Lima in Peru; Mexico City and Cancun in Mexico; Bogotá, Cartagena, and Medellín in Colombia; Quito and Guayaquil in Ecuador; Toronto and Montreal in Canada; Sao Paulo in Brazil; Buenos Aires in Argentina and Santiago in Chile.
With this expansion, Punta Cana Airport becomes the airline’s second base of operations in the Dominican Republic.
Víctor Pacheco, CEO and founder of Arajet, expressed his satisfaction in offering citizens of the region the opportunity to connect with the eastern region of the Dominican Republic, recognized as the most important tourist center in the Caribbean and the second most significant in the entire continent.

He stressed that the airline aims to increase passenger mobility from Punta Cana Airport, the busiest in the country. This effort seeks to position the Dominican Republic as the new air hub of the continent.
Punta Cana continues to grow
Punta Cana Airport has maintained its commitment to innovation, which has allowed it to be one of the best airports in Latin America, with constant growth, managing the largest tourist air traffic in the country, connecting with 75 cities in 34 countries through 58 airlines and mobilizing over 9 million passengers a year.

Arajet has established itself as the Dominican airline with the largest passenger movement, surpassing the barrier of 100,000 passengers for several consecutive months. This represents more than seven per cent of the total number of passengers flying to and from the Dominican Republic, emphasizing its growing presence in the country’s air market.
