Porter Celebrates 18 years of service

Porter is celebrating 18 years of service and it’s been another transformative year for the airline. With its continuing North American expansion, Porter is already the second-largest airline operating flights to the U.S. and Canada at Toronto Pearson International Airport, and the largest airline operating out of Ottawa.

During the past 12 months, Porter has:

  • Grown to 3,900+ team members (up from 1,500 in 2022)
  • Taken delivery of 20 new E195-E2 aircraft (operating 42 in total of an order up to 100)
  • Total fleet size of 71 aircraft, including 29 De Havilland Dash 8-400 aircraft
  • Added 20 new routes (current total 65) and 11 new destinations (current total 38)

The airline now serves every province in Canada. It is also expanding further across the U.S., with six destinations in Florida, as well as Los Angeles, San Francisco, Las Vegas, and Phoenix. San Diego and Palm Springs also start this winter. A base for regional flights at Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport connects markets throughout Eastern Canada and the U.S.

Michael Deluce, CEO, Porter Airlines, said that: “Porter has redefined air travel for 18 years. We continue to expand our network across the continent and are giving travellers highly competitive fares for an elevated level of service that previously didn’t exist in the marketplace.”

Deluce continued: “Our emphasis on treating all economy passengers with genuine hospitality is the foundation of who we are and something every team member takes pride in. Thank you to everyone for contributing to another year of amazing growth.”
