Korean Air introduces new Dreamliner on Seoul-Vancouver route

Korean Air introduced its new Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner on the Seoul Incheon-Vancouver route, marking Vancouver as the first North American destination to regularly feature the airline’s latest and largest widebody aircraft.

The SkyTeam Alliance member currently operates 10 weekly flights between Seoul and Vancouver, with the Boeing 787-10 serving seven of these. Starting October 27, the Seoul Incheon-Vancouver route will increase to 11 weekly flights, with the 787-10 scheduled for daily daytime flights the same day.

Flight KE072 leaves Vancouver at 2:30 p.m., arriving in Seoul Incheon at 5:50 p.m. the following day. The return flight KE071 departs from Seoul Incheon at 6:50 p.m. and arrives in Vancouver at 12:40 p.m. Beginning Dec. 1, the route will expand to a twice-daily service.

Expansion through North America

Looking ahead, Korean Air plans to fly its 787-10 to other key North American cities, including Honolulu and Seattle, as part of its commitment to providing an enhanced passenger experience and meeting growing travel demands.

The new Boeing 787-10 boasts a spacious and modern cabin design, accommodating 289 economy class passengers and 36 travellers in the luxurious Prestige Class (business class) Suites.

Korean Air’s Prestige Suites 2.0 offer a world-class experience with fully lie-flat seats with a generous length of 78 inches, and a 46-inch pitch and 21-inch width. Each suite is equipped with a large 24-inch personal 4K monitor, wireless charging pads, and 60W ultrafast USB-C charging ports, all arranged in a convenient 1-2-1 configuration for easy aisle access.

Economy class passengers will also enjoy a high level of comfort, with each seat featuring a 13-inch 4K personal monitor, a 32-inch seat pitch, and a 17.2-inch width. Inflight Wi-Fi service is also available.

Demand from business travellers

The introduction of the Boeing 787-10 to Vancouver is in direct response to increasing passenger demand, particularly from business travellers. “Canada is a growing market for Korean Air. Many Korean businesses are investing and conducting business in Canada, driving demand for premium business travel,” said Daechul Jung, Korean Air’s Canada country manager.

With its state-of-the-art amenities and enhanced customer experience, Korean Air’s 787-10 promises to elevate travel between Seoul and Vancouver, catering to both leisure and business travellers.
