BC’s West Coast Wilderness Lodge adds 20 new self-service villas

The West Coast Wilderness Lodge is introducing year-round access to the Sunshine Coast with the launch of ‘Villas on the Inlet by West Coast Wilderness Lodge’, 20 new self-catering vacation rental units.

Just a three-hour drive or 40-minute float plane flight from Vancouver, the spacious one-bedroom suites overlook the Sechelt Inlet, perched 100 feet above the water.

At over 650 square feet, each unit features a fully equipped kitchen, a separate king-sized bedroom, a large bathroom, a living area with a sofa bed, and a generous waterfront balcony—from which whales are sometimes glimpsed—all in a modern West Coast style.

These villas also provide the added convenience of year-round access to West Coast Wilderness Lodge’s dedicated staff, ensuring a comfortable and seamless stay.

About the property

The property is located in the coastal village of Egmont, a hidden gem on the Sunshine Coast. The village is the perfect base for guests looking to enjoy both the natural beauty of the region’s rugged wilderness and its laid-back culture. The nearby Skookumchuck Narrows offer outdoor enthusiasts plenty of hiking, kayaking, and wildlife-viewing opportunities.

During the May to October peak season, guests staying at Villas on the Inlet have a range of options including dining at the lodge’s Inlets Restaurant with its celebrated five-course dinner, sightseeing and adventure activities offered by the Egmont Adventure Centre, as well as taking things at their own pace by shopping for groceries, visiting Egmont’s handful of pubs and cafes, and hiking the local trails.

Year-round, self-catering model

While the traditional Heritage Lodge will continue to welcome guests from May to October each year with all-inclusive packages and dining at Inlets Restaurant, Villas on the Inlet will offer a flexible, year-round, self-catering alternative for families, independent travellers, or those visiting outside of the peak season.

Six of the 20 units are currently available for guests to book, with the rest set to open by the end of the fall.

The new accommodations are less than a 10-minute walk from the Heritage Lodge. Starting in summer 2025, the area will also be home to a waterfront bistro with a private dock for both float planes and boats.

Additionally, a former salmon processing plant is being repurposed to house the Egmont Adventure Centre, along with an 8,000 square foot space for up to 200 people, 2,500 square feet of meeting space, and a new spa, gym and pool for visitors to enjoy.
