Mondee Canada kicks off 2024 Roadshows in Toronto

Mondee Canada kicked off its 2024 Roadshows in Toronto last night (Sept. 25) welcoming an animated crowd of travel advisors looking forward to an evening of networking and fun.

Held at the Woodbine Banquet & Convention Centre, more than 170 travel advisors attended Mondee Canada’s Toronto event, taking the opportunity to meet with more than a dozen of the company’s airline partners during the trade show segment of the evening.

Airline partners on hand for the event included Air Canada, WestJet, Porter, Air Transat, Lufthansa Group, Sri Lankan Airlines, SATA Azores, Qatar, Etihad Airlines, Ethiopian Airlines, Delta, Fiji Airways and Oman Air.

Carrier representatives reported that advisors had plenty of good questions for them and they were eager to learn more about their current offerings.

Yuvraj Datta, chief commercial officer for Mondee, told his audience that the evening was about taking a moment to thank its partners and to get feedback from them.

He said it was also a chance to recognize Mondee’s supplier partners and for everyone attending it was an opportunity for them to broaden their horizons.

Datta noted as well the Toronto roadshow gave the company a chance to remind advisors to use the Mondee Marketplace to its fullest.

In his address, Datta told his audiences that the travel agency community is “the most resilient business on the planet,” pointing out that it has survived airline commission cuts, SARS, Volcanic Ash and COVID.

“Every time we all survived,” Datta said, “and tonight is about celebrating your resilience and your support for Mondee over the past 13 years.”

Mondee’s chief commercial officer also told advisors that they have nothing to fear from NDC or AI, noting that they are just tools for agents to use and Mondee is making it easier for agents to use them.

Mondee Canada’s roadshows now head to Calgary (Oct. 1), Edmonton (Oct. 2), wrapping up in Vancouver (Oct.3).

As for the message of the evening, Datta said he wants advisors to remember that “we’re not just working for agents today or tomorrow, we’re working for agents and the future.”
