Tourcan named North American GSA for Palace on Wheels

Tourcan Vacations has been appointed North American GSA for India’s luxury Palace on Wheels train.

“We are honoured to represent this majestic train that has been operating in Rajasthan (in collaboration with the Rajasthan “Tourism Development Corporation) since 1982. The train took 2nd place in the Conde Nast Readers’ Choice Awards in 2023 as one of the Best Train Trips in the World,” the company said.

The train operates between September and April. The train’s 14 coaches are each named after a former princely region of Rajputana. There are 39 Deluxe Cabins and 2 Super Deluxe Cabins all inspired by the dynasties of Rajasthan and which come with ensuite facilities.

The 7-night 8-day itinerary starts and ends in Delhi and covers Jaipur, Sawai Madhopur (Ranthambore), Chittorgarh, Udaipur, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Bharatpur and Agra.

Sightseeing and experiences offered during the journey include the Taj Mahal in Agra, the Amber Fort in Jaipur, a camel safari in Jaisalmer, Chittorgarh Fort, a visit to Ranthambore National Park and a boat ride on Lake Pichola in Udaipur. And, along the way clients will enjoy regional cuisine in carriages decked out in Indian textiles.

All sightseeing excursions and meals are included.

Those who do not want to do the entire journey can join the train at one of its many stops and do a portion of the itinerary, subject to availability.

The Palace on Wheels offers modern conveniences, comfortable appointed beds and furnishings, and large glass windows to view the countryside.

Tourcan has a special promotion as part of its launch of the Palace on Wheels. Bookings made for specific departures in September and October will qualify for 50% off for the second person travelling.
