Todd Is Back With Unique Vacations Canada
Maureen Barnes-Smith, Vice President, Sales & Marketing Canada, Unique Vacations Canada has announced the return of Richard Todd in the newly-created role of Senior Sales Consultant, effective immediately.
Said Barnes-Smith: “To have someone of Richard’s high calibre, both professionally and personally, join my sales team at this time, during the era of Sandals 2.0, is exhilarating. His vast experience and strong skill-set is perhaps only matched by his passion for the Sandals brand and his deep connections to the Canadian market.”
And she added: “I know that travel advisors will be equally, if not more so, excited to have him back at Unique Vacations Canada and will join me in saying ‘welcome home Richard’.”
No stranger to the Canadian travel industry, Todd originally spent several years as part of the Unique Vacations Canada sales team between 1999 and 2005. He was then promoted and moved to the United States, where he held a number of positions including National Training Manager and Director of Sales & Marketing, West Coast region before leaving the company in 2017 to pursue other endeavours.
A proud Jamaican, Todd first joined the Sandals family in 1991, working in various on-resort roles at several properties on the island prior to receiving a promotion to work out of the Sandals Resorts International corporate office in Montego Bay, before eventually emigrating to Canada in 1999.
In his new position as Senior Sales Consultant, he will serve as a high-level resource to both Maureen Barnes-Smith and C.J. Smith, Director of Sales on overall sales strategy and execution for the Canadian market.
Working remotely from his home base in London, Ontario, he will also service and support travel advisors in the Southwestern Ontario region – one that he cultivated during his first tenure with the company – to help grow their Sandals and Beaches business.
