FCTG Appoints New SVP, Marketing
Flight Centre Travel Group has named Chad Godfrey as SVP, Marketing, Northern Hemisphere, effective May 1, 2022.
Godfrey will be based in Boston and will be responsible for all marketing efforts in the Northern Hemisphere for the company’s leisure brands including Flight Centre, Liberty Travel, and GOGO Vacations.
He will also steer Digital and Partnerships strategies globally as part of Flight Centre’s global marketing leadership. The company’s focus on this role reflects the significant digital component of its “retail transformation”.
Most recently, Godfrey held the role of SVP, Global Head of Digital at Flight Centre Travel Group for its corporate brands portfolio, including FCM and Corporate Traveler, which have both successfully undergone major rebranding and product launches over the past two years with a focus on digital marketing and website experience.
In his new role, Godfrey will lead and implement efforts to convert leisure marketing strategy into action, and to ensure successful deployment and progression of a customer-centric retail offering. Simultaneously, he’ll sharpen plans for longer-term marketing-driven success and discipline scalability. Godfrey will balance work across brands in the Northern Hemisphere to ensure marketing efforts deliver on business goals.
Godfrey brings a strong record of digital and traditional marketing experience and results to the role prior to his Flight Centre leadership roles. He held several senior positions at businesses in the Greater Boston area, playing a key role in BuyerZone’s acquisition by Tech Media Network (Purch), Gemvara’s acquisition by Berkshire Hathaway, and the retail launch of HOTSHOT, a sports drink developed by a Nobel Prize winner at Harvard University.
