Belize Makes Changes To Travel Protocols 

As the Belize Tourism Board remains committed to evolving travel protocols to best reflect the current travel landscape, fully vaccinated travellers to Belize will no longer require a negative COVID-19 test, but must show proof of vaccination for entry into Belize’s airport, land borders or sea ports.

Travellers arriving by air who are not fully vaccinated and unable to show proof of vaccination must present proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR test result taken within 72 hours of arrival or a negative Antigen Rapid test taken within 48 hours of arrival.

For unvaccinated travellers arriving via land borders or sea ports, mandatory testing will be administered by the Ministry of Health. No test result taken prior to arrival will be accepted at the land borders or sea ports.

As of Feb. 15, all travellers to Belize will be required to pay for Belize Travel Health Insurance – a mandatory insurance that helps protect travellers against incurred medical and non-medical expenses if they test positive for COVID-19 during their stay in Belize.

The cost of the policy is US$18 and provides coverage for up to US$50,000 in medical expenses related to treatment of COVID-19 for a period of 21 days.
