Germany Lifts COVID Restrictions
Germany has removed the majority of its COVID restrictions as of March 20, 2022, The easing of restrictions had already commenced, in previous weeks, with the number of vaccinated and recovered people allowed to meet being increased and the requirement for vaccinated and recovered people to show a current negative test to access restaurants, bars and hotels dropped; as well, night clubs were reopened.
Effective March 20, the majority of the remaining restrictions will be lifted for both vaccinated and unvaccinated persons. This includes Germany’s football Bundesliga, whose clubs will be allowed to fill their stadiums to full capacities. Requirements for mask-wearing on public transport are likely to remain.
Fully vaccinated travellers do not need a negative COVID test to enter Germany and since Canada is no longer considered a high risk area, travellers no longer have to fill out the digital entry form.
