CWT Exiting Associate Program In Canada
CWT has been reviewing and assessing its options for its leisure operating model in Canada, and Press Today reached out to find out what the company’s plan was for those operations.
In response, CWT told PT that: “At this time we can confirm we have advised our CWT Associates of our plan to exit this program effective Aug. 1, 2022.”
A spokesperson for the company said that: “We are working closely with our JV [joint venture] partner, CWT Harvey’s Travel, who will continue to have a strong leisure presence in Canada.”
The spokesperson continued: “In addition, we will continue to meet our contractual obligations to all leisure clients, therefore, we do not have definitive timelines beyond those communicated to our Associate members.”
CWT has about 30 Associate locations in Canada and they will be exiting the program on July 31, 2022.
The spokesperson also made it clear that “this has no impact on our JV partner CWT Harvey’s Travel,” adding, as well, that the changes will have “no impact to corporate travel in Canada.”
Asking why CWT was making these changes, the spokesperson told PT that: “Following an extensive review of several potential options, we have decided to focus our resources on our core business travel and meetings & events activities, and our joint venture partnership with CWT Harvey’s Travel.”
And the spokesperson added that: “The changed emerging environment has helped us to determine that we must focus our resources on our core business travel and meetings & events activities and our JV.”
