Barbados’ Ocean Hotels set for expansion

A notable upcoming change in its offerings means Barbados’ Ocean Hotels will go from offering guests a choice between all-inclusive and non-all-inclusive stays to offering guests a different choice between all-inclusive and non-all-inclusive stays.
Company sales and marketing co-ordinator Melissa Defreitas reports that its Ocean Two hotel will become an all-inclusive in November 2020, resulting in two of its three properties going that route, a route she says is becoming more popular with sun-seekers.
“It seems more people are looking for all-inclusives,” she states.
But she adds that Ocean Hotels will always encourage its guests to get out and see Barbados, regardless of the type of hotel stay they opt for.
“We really encourage our guests to explore the island,” she says. “We have happy guests. We don’t want to limit our guests to not having the local experience.”
Ocean Two is an 88-room, beachfront property within easy reach of St. Lawrence’s Gap, known for its restaurants and nightlife.
Guests will find both a pool and an adults-only rooftop plunge pool.
Guests can also choose between rooms and suites.
The sounding of a conch shell marks three daily happy hours.
The hotel has a restaurant, room service, and bars, including a swim-up pool bar.
Also found are a fitness centre with cardio and weight equipment, and in-room spa services and massages in a private area on the Roof Deck Patio overlooking a bay and on the beach are available.
Ocean Hotels’ portfolio also includes South Beach, a 49-room hotel that Defreitas labels “very boutique” and which was inspired by the lively Miami district of the same name.
The four-star, all-suite property is a minute’s walk from a beach on which the hotel has a complimentary beach service.
South Beach, on Barbados’ south coast, has a restaurant, poolside food and beverage service, pool deck bar with a happy hour and evening entertainment on some nights, a meeting room, fitness room and spa services.
Ocean Hotels also offers Sea Breeze, a 122-room all-inclusive that has four bars, six dining options and nightly entertainment.
Visitors will also find kids, and teens, programs, water sports, a fitness room, beach activities program, meeting room, and wedding and events service.
