A first look at Xolumado Inspiration Village

Ahead of its official opening this month, travel agents on location for the 11th annual Gourmet Inclusive Vacation Consultant Sales & Marketing Forum in December got an exclusive preview of Xolumado Inspiration Village by Karisma.
Located on 2.5 acres surrounded by lush vegetation, gardens and intertwining pathways, the property focuses on relaxation, rejuvenation and inspiration.
“We are thrilled to debut this one-of-a-kind destination for guests seeking to unwind with nature,” said Kelly Poling, executive vice-president of marketing at Karisma Hotels & Resorts. “Xolumado combines Karisma’s elevated hospitality with the natural and cultural beauty of Mexico’s Riviera Maya to create an authentic, tranquil experience for guests to enjoy with friends, family or significant others.”
Poling told Canadian Travel Press Xolumado Inspiration Village is also a great option for groups, whether it’s wedding parties or yoga and wellness retreats, as they’re able to book the entire property.
In total, there are 41 cottage-style buildings available across three room categories. There are 21 uniquely designed suites that were previously existing and 20 standard new-builds. The décor is a mixture of oriental influence with touches of Mexican authenticity.
The name of the nature-inspired property is an homage to Sr. Martinez and Sra. Dolores from the previous owner, who used part of their first and last names to come up with Xolumado.
The intimate property features a pool, daily yoga and mediation classes and the Xolumado Restaurant BBQ & Bar. With fresh ingredients from Karisma’s nearby 76,000 square-foot hydroponic greenhouse, Xolumado also provides an authentic farm-to-table dining experience. Guests will also have access to the neighbouring AAA 4-Diamond Resort, Generations Riviera Maya by Karisma, including five restaurants, three bars, beachside lounges, an oversized pool with a swim-up bar, a kids’ club, and more.
Guests can also partake in the sound healing Shhh Experience, outdoor breathing exercises, massage lessons, Spanish and Mayan classes, authentic Mexican cooking classes, tequila and mezcal tastings, and more.
