50 Degrees North Expanding Canadian Operations
After just 18 months of operation here, Scandinavian travel specialist, 50 Degrees North is expanding its Canadian office in response to increased demand from North Americans seeking to travel to Scandinavia.
Natalie Lauzon, 50 Degrees North’s Vancouver sales and office manager, notes that: “Our small team has been working diligently to increase our visibility across Canada and the US and we are already above our sales projection for 2018.”
The expansion includes the addition of Titta Teräs to the company’s North America team. Teräs has extensive experience and in-depth destination and cultural knowledge. A Finnish native, she has worked in Helsinki, Italy, The Netherlands, New Zealand and Estonia as both business and corporate travel agent.
Teräs will assist with reservations and itinerary/product development in cooperation with the Norwegian office.
At the beginning of October, native Icelander, Soffia Gustafsdottir joined 50 Degrees North to supervise operations in Iceland and assist visitors in destination. Gustafsdottir’s previous roles include Nordic destination consultant and escorted tour director in Iceland and Greenland. A long-term Iceland resident, Soffia has also been prominent in regional tourism development of the West Fjords region.
Hege Henriksen has also joined the 50 Degrees North team in the Norwegian office, as a Destination Specialist. Hege has over 10 years of experience from the tourism industry, and extensive knowledge of both her home country Norway, and the Nordic region.
