25th Annual Golf Tournament A Hole In One
One team has come out on top after two days on the course for the 25th annual Canadian Travel Industry Golf Tournament held at The Sandals Golf & Country Club in Ocho Rios, Jamaica from Nov. 28-Dec. 1.
Taking home the grand prize are the Bobless Birdies, made up of Stavros Kotsireas, director of trade partner relations & Preferred Rewards Canada at Flight Centre Travel Group; Spencer Sorensen, manager specialty sales (business development) at WestJet; Ryan Saroli, CEO, Agencia Global and Scott Roseblade, VP air, Goway Travel.
“We’re amazed, it’s an incredible feeling,” said Sorensen, upon learning his team came out victorious. “We played as a team. Those greens were tough, it was very difficult.”
“We all chipped in. On both days we were all trying to pick what our best shots were but the caddies were great, we had a lot of fun, we enjoyed the whole thing, it was an amazing event,” added Kotsireas.
The winning team – who were presented with the championship trophy by Air Canada Vacations’ Francine Allen, brand manager for Sandals and Beaches Resorts, and Hugo Coulombe, VP Finance & CFO – earned a guaranteed place at the global Sandals Golf Tournament at Sandals Emerald Bay in The Bahamas.

“In true Sandals style, we’re going to switch things up a bit,” said Maureen Barnes-Smith, director of sales and marketing for Unique Vacations Canada offering the winning WestJet team an alternative to Air Canada flights as part of the grand prize. “We’re also going to give each of you three nights at a Sandals or Beaches resort of your choice.”
Additional prizes went to The Lobsters for best team spirit, Kumanan Gopalasamy for men’s straightest drive and Jackie Smith for ladies’ straightest drive.
Along with fun times on the course – complete with plenty of Red Stripe and jerk chicken – the tournament included an excursion to Beaches Ocho Rios where the players got to mingle with special guests like Oscar The Grouch.
