Ensemble, New Zealand partners host Hobbit Party in Toronto
Ensemble Travel Group welcomed about 25 of its travel advisors and agency owners to its offices in downtown Toronto earlier this week for a Hobbit Party.
And, for those of you who don’t know, hobbits are those fine creatures who inhabit the pages of J.R.R. Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings trilogy and its story of the triumph of good over evil.
Were there hobbits at Ensemble’s party? Good question. Yes, there were although they seemed a little bit taller than the hobbits seen in Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings films.
All this to say, that everyone got in the spirit of the evening and had a chance to learn quite a bit about what New Zealand has to offer its visitors, including a chance to visit the Hobbiton Movie Set.
In fact, six of Ensemble’s New Zealand partners were in Toronto to talk to the group’s advisors and agency owners about what the attraction of the destination was for visitors as well as what their own companies had to offer Ensemble’s advisors.
Air New Zealand’s Mason Spencer (based in YVR) was there, while the group from New Zealand included Sean Marsh from Te Puia – Rotorua, New Zealand; Mike Murphy from the Entrada Travel Group; Jason Richmond of thl; Henry Horne from the Hobbiton Movie Set; and Kiran Nambiar of ANZCRO.
Each member of the group had the chance to tell advisors a little bit about the programs they offer – and they are all travel agent friendly, just so you know – and during his presentation Henry Horne observed that “Canadians have an affinity for New Zealand and we have an affinity for Canadians.”
